YouTube video showing guns, drugs leads to evictions at Orlando complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — A YouTube video showcasing drugs and high-powered weapons has some residents of a troubled apartment complex very concerned.

The music video features teens and young adults, who are part of a rap group, holding guns and drugs. Sources said the video was shot inside the Windsor Cove apartment complex off Mercy Drive.

"Yeah, I know all of them," resident Katherine Sims said. "That's Windsor Cove."

The problem is that the apartment complex is HUD-subsidized, which means there is a ban on gun possession.

"It does concern me because my grandkids walk and play out here," Sims said.

When managers of the complex recognized some of the people in the video as Windsor Cove residents, three families were evicted and told to find a new place to live.

Resident said they have no problem with the complex evicting problem residents.

"It is dangerous, especially when they shoot up in the air like they don't have good sense," Sims said.

Channel 9 was at the complex last week when Orlando police found some of the guns that were stolen from the recent Fairgrounds gun show.

Management at the apartment complex wouldn't comment, but is working to determine if any of the gun theft suspects also live in Windsor Cove.
