Zimmerman's medical records released by attorney

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A report from George Zimmerman's doctor visit the day after he fatally shot Trayvon Martin is among materials his attorney has asked the judge to review during a bond hearing last week.

The report details injuries the former neighborhood watch leader sustained during the fight.

Attorney Mark O'Mara released the documents on his website. It also includes witness statements and law enforcement interviews with Zimmerman about the February shooting.

The medical report said Zimmerman was recovering from scalp wounds and had a broken nose, though he refused further treatment by a specialist.

The paramedic who treated him said Zimmerman was badly beaten the night of the shooting.

"A good 45 percent of his head and face were covered in blood," said Kevin O'Rourke, of Sanford Fire Rescue.

Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester is expected to decide this week whether to release Zimmerman on bond. His original bond was revoked last month after Lester ruled Zimmerman and his wife were untruthful about their finances.

Zimmerman is still in protective custody at the Seminole County Jail. He's been locked up 29 days.

"He wants out. He wants to be able to be with Shellie. He's very worried about his wife. We'll deal with it no matter what the judge's ruling," said O'Mara.

During his second bond hearing on Friday, O'Mara argued his client should get out of jail because he's neither dangerous nor a flight risk.
