COCOA BEACH, Fla. — Nearly a year after a man was shot and killed inside a Cocoa Beach motel room, three people have been arrested in connection to his death.
Lonnie Robinson, 24, James Byers, 27, and Kaelea Wellington, 24, all from Cocoa, have all been charged with first-degree murder and attempted robbery with a firearm for their involvement in the November 12, 2019 shooting death of 46-year-old Shawn McGraw at the Fawlty Towers Motel.

Police initially described the shooting as an isolated incident related to criminal activity.
“The investigative skill and tenacity of our team to gather the critical evidence needed in this complex case, while having to overcome pandemic-related obstacles, are commendable,” said Chief Scott Rosenfeld.
Police haven’t detailed exactly how they linked the three suspects to McGraw’s murder.

The warrants for Robinson and Byers were served on them at the jail where they were already in custody on unrelated charges.
