ORLANDO, Fla. — The City of Orlando has put a timetable on repairs for the Lake Eola Fountain.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said Wednesday that he wants the landmark repaired in time for the Fireworks at the Fountain pyrotechnics show on the fourth of July. The fountain stopped working when it was struck by lightning in August of 2009.
Repairs will cost about $1.3 million. A city insurance policy will pay some of the repair bill. The rest will be paid for by private donations.
