The home opener for the Miami Marlins has been canceled.
The Marlins were supposed to take on the Baltimore Orioles today, but at least 14 Miami players, coaches and staff have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus since the start of the season last week, ESPN’s Jesse Rogers and Jeff Passan reported.

Four players for the Marlins tested positive when they played the Philadelphia Phillies, CBS Sports reported.
Players who test positive for the coronavirus must test negative twice at least 24 hours apart or get cleared by a panel to play, according to CBS Sports.
The Marlins remain in Philadelphia for testing and those who tested positive will be placed into quarantine, Bleacher Report reported.
Miami beat Philly two out of three games in the season-opening series over the weekend, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
Unlike the NBA and NHL, which instituted a bubble plan or a hub system, to keep exposure to the virus at a minimum, the MLB only shortened its season to 60 games, but are still traveling to get to various stadiums around the country, according to the Sun-Sentinel.
