74th Prime-time Emmy Awards: See the winners

LOS ANGELES — The 2022 Emmy Awards honored the best and brightest of the small screen on Monday in Los Angeles.

Kenan Thompson hosted the 74th edition of the Television Academy’s top honors from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

The award show included dozens of celebrity presenters, including Lee Jung-jae, Selena Gomez, RuPaul Charles, Lizzo and Martin Short. John Legend also performed “Pieces” from his latest album during the “in memoriam” segment of the show, according to Emmys.com.

Star of “Abbott Elementary,” Sheryl Lee Ralph, made history at the Emmys for winning outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series, according to People Magazine. She has become the second Black woman to win an Emmy in that category, which Jackée Harry did in 1987 for “227.” Ralph also broke out into song after accepting her award from Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers. The song was Dianne Reeves’ “Endangered Species,” according to CNN.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya became the youngest person to ever win leading acting categories twice for her work on HBO’s “Euphoria.”
