NFL.com is reporting that quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be sticking around the Green Bay area for a bit longer.
News of the deal was broken by Pat McAfee, NFL.com said.
Rodgers confirmed that a deal has been reached, but he said reports of the contract terms and that he signed already are false.
Hey everyone, just wanted to clear some things up; YES I will be playing with the @packers next year, however, reports about me signing a contract are inaccurate, as are the supposed terms of the contract I “signed”. I’m very excited to be back 💪🏼 #year18❤️

News of the deal comes after two other high-profile quarterbacks announced their retirements from the game within weeks of each other — Ben Roethlisberger and Tom Brady.
It also comes after controversy surrounding COVID-19. Rodgers had said he had been “immunized” against COVID-19 but then tested positive for the illness. He admitted he did not get one of the three approved vaccines, but had appealed and lost a request that an alternative treatment could be accepted by the NFL.
He missed a single game because he was in quarantine as an unvaccinated player.
The Packers went on to earn the top spot for the NFC playoffs.
Rodgers ended the season with 37 touchdowns and only four interceptions, ESPN reported.
