Court documents in Williamson County say the man, Nathan Beam of Jackson County, said the former couple’s German shepherd bit him while he was working as a cable and satellite installer at their home in June 2020, WKRN reported.

Beam is seeking $500,000 in damages, WSMV reported.

Beam alleges in the lawsuit, which was filed Tuesday, that Cavallari and Cutler were not at their Franklin home at the time, but their two German shepherds were on the property and were not restrained, the television station reported.

Beam alleges that while he was walking to his car after completing the installation, a German shepherd named Kona was blocking the driver-side door to his vehicle, WSMV reported. In the complaint, Beam alleges the dog prevented him from entering his vehicle. Beam said he picked an object off of the ground to entice the animal to move, but alleges the dog bit down on his thumb and fingernail and did not let go for several seconds, the television station reported.

According to the lawsuit, Cavallari’s assistant handed Beam a paper towel and told him to leave the property immediately, WZTV reported.

Beam is seeking damages and alleges he has “visible disfigurement” and “serious, painful, disabling and permanent bodily injuries” from the incident, the television station reported. Beam also claims he suffered physical and mental pain.

Beam also alleges that Cutler and Cavallari knew the dogs posed a danger to others, citing photos of the dogs on social media that were posted by Cavallari and included hashtags like #TrainedKiller and #DontMessWithThisCrew along with the caption “beast.”

Although Cutler and Cavallari are divorced, both are listed as owners of the dogs, according to court documents.
