GREEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A New York man is accused of assaulting a woman and biting off a piece of her ear during a domestic dispute, authorities said.
Andrew Houck, 24, of Nassau, was arrested by Green Island police on Saturday and charged with one count of assault in the first degree, WRGB-TV reported.
According to police, officers responded to a call for a reported physical domestic incident, WTEN-TV reported. Officers arriving at the scene discovered a female victim with numerous cuts, bruises, swelling and facial injuries, according to the television station. In their report, officers said the victim was punched in the face and was bit several times, including her ear, which was partially bitten off.

The victim was taken to an area hospital, WRGB reported.
Houck was arraigned in the Green Island Justice Court and remanded to Albany County Correctional Facility, the television station reported. Bail was set at $20,000.
Houck is scheduled to appear again in court on Tuesday.
