The home is listed for sale on Market Street in Marietta for $297,000. The three-bedroom, two-bath house sits on 0.17 acres and is described by Century21 realtors as contemporary.

Zillow Gone Wild, a social media account that aims to highlight what it calls the “best” of the Zillow real estate app, shared the listing on Instagram, where in 48 hours it had more than 40,000 likes.

The home’s listing agent, Natalia Latsios, told Insider that she initially brushed off the cave when she heard about it. “I was picturing something way smaller. But this cave was almost 40 feet long.”

Latsios told Insider that the cave was already a part of the home when the seller purchased the property, and said that the cave “used to connect to tunnels that ran under the town.”

While there appear to be no concrete records of original homeowner’s intentions regarding the cave, some locals have hypothesized that it was a bomb shelter, used during Prohibition, or may have even been a part of the Underground Railroad, Lancaster Online reported.

“It’s certainly not a space for everyone,” Latsios told Insider. “But there will be someone out there who will appreciate the historical value of the home.”
