According to Fox Business, Milan native Christian Cavaletti, 50, now has 12,402 cans from 81 countries, crushing the previous 4,391-can world record he set in 2004. The massive collection is housed in his basement, Guinness World Records said in a news release last week.

Cavaletti, a textile company site manager, began collecting the cans in 1989, according to the release. Notable items include “the very first edition of Pepsi can ever made” from 1948, as well as a prototype from the 1960s and a 1985 “space can” reproduction, the organization said.

Cavaletti isn’t the only member of his family enamored with Pepsi products, Guinness reported. His older brother, Edoardo, collects items tied to the “Back to the Future” films, including Pepsi Perfect, the release said.

Cavaletti also has befriended Gary Feng of Canada, who set the world record for the largest Coca-Cola can collection, according to Guinness. Feng’s collection is slightly smaller than Cavaletti’s, with 11,308 cans, the organization said.

Guinness added that Cavaletti wants to open his collection for public viewing.
