Recall alert: More than 450,000 Harbor Freight Tools seats pose fall risk

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall for Harbor Freight Tools seats. The recall involves the Pittsburgh Automotive-branded pneumatic roller seats.

The swivel seats were sold in Harbor Freight Tools stores across the United States and online from July 2014 through September 2021 for about $30. Approximately 478,000 seats were sold.

According to the recall notice from the CPSC, the connection from the seat to the seat post can break, posing a fall hazard. The company has received 96 reports of the seat breaking, including 10 reports of minor injuries from falls.

The impacted stools are red with a 15 to 20-inch lift range and have a black storage tray above the wheels. The product registration number CA-44417 is visible on a white label on the bottom of the seat’s storage tray.

The item number is printed on a label on the front of the storage tray, and the UPC is printed on a label on the underside. Only the seats with the following item and UPC numbers are included in the recall:

Anybody who has the seats should stop using them and return them to the nearest Harbor Freight Tools store for a free replacement or full refund.
