Recall alert: Nearly 9,000 glow rattles pose choking hazard

BELOIT, Wis. — PlayMonster Group LLC on Thursday recalled nearly 9,000 of its Kid O Hudson Glow Rattles because the rattle’s leg can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

The motion-activated rattles shaped like a puppy were sold at specialty stores nationwide and online at amazon.com, walmart.com, playmonster.com and zulily.com from February 2018 through February 2022 for about $25 each, according to a recall notice issued jointly by Beloit, Wisconsin-based PlayMonster and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

PlayMonster has fielded three reports to date of the rattle legs breaking off, but no injuries linked to the recall have been confirmed.

Consumers are advised to immediately take the recalled rattles away from children, stop using them and contact PlayMonster for instructions on receiving a $25 refund. PlayMonster will also provide consumers with a prepaid shipping label to return the recalled product.
