NEW YORK CITY — A federal judge in New York on Wednesday handed down a three-year prison sentence to actress Allison Mack for her role in the alleged sex cult NXIVM, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
Allison Mack has been sentenced to 3 years in prison for her role in the Nxivm case. Also a $20,000 fine.

Mack, best known for appearing in the TV series “Smallville” from 2001 to 2011, pleaded guilty in 2019 to charges that she manipulated women into becoming sex slaves for Keith Raniere, the spiritual leader of NXIVM. Last year, a judge sentenced Raniere to 120 years in prison for charges including sex trafficking.

On Wednesday, in the federal courthouse in Brooklyn, Mack denounced the self-improvement guru, according to The Associated Press.
“I made choices I will forever regret,” she said, also telling the judge she was filled with “remorse and guilt.”
Mack, who first attended a workshop held by NXIVM in 2007, cooperated with authorities investigating the group. NXIVM billed itself as a company that provided coaching to members aimed at helping them to attain a “new ethical understanding” to allow humanity to “rise to its noble possibility,” according to court records.

In a letter filed last week in court, Mack apologized to friends, family and people who she brought into NXIVM.
“I am sorry I ever exposed you to the nefarious and emotionally abusive schemes of a twisted man,” she wrote. “I am sorry that I encouraged you to use your resources to participate in something that was ultimately so ugly.”
