DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. — A stray dog in North Carolina that repeatedly broke into a Dollar General store to steal a stuffed unicorn has been adopted.
Duplin County Animal Services were called after Sisu, a 1-year-old Labrador mix, kept going into the Dollar General store and taking a large, purple stuffed unicorn.
Responding officer Samantha Lane captured Sisu and bought him the $10 toy for his stay at the shelter. He was named after the dragon in Disney’s “Raya and the Last Dragon.”
On Friday, the agency said on social media that Sisu was adopted.
Dollar General also said they plan to send a “few extra purple unicorns for the adoptive family,” pet food to the animal shelter, and a gift to Lane, the animal control officer, People reported.
