Tim Tebow will no longer be wearing the teal, black and gold of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The tight end and the team announced Tebow has been cut from the team, WJAX reported.
Tebow went to Twitter to confirm the news to fans, thanking the team for its support.
Tebow, 34, started his road back to the NFL in April doing workouts with his hometown team and was signed officially in May, bringing him under Coach Urban Meyer, who was Tebow’s coach when he played in college, WJAX reported.
Before joining the Jaguars this year he gained nationwide prominence as a quarterback, winning the national championship with the Florida Gators.
He also played QB for the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles before leaving the NFL.
After leaving the NFL, Tebow had a stint playing minor league baseball and appeared on ESPN and SEC Network as a college football analyst, WJAX reported.
