Twitter will allow employees to work from home forever

Twitter is going to let their employees work from home even after the pandemic ends, according to an email obtained by Buzzfeed.

Jack Dorsey, Twitter’s CEO, told employees Tuesday that they can work from home permanently.

“We’ve been very thoughtful in how we’ve approached this from the time we were one of the first companies to move to a work-from-home model. We’ll continue to be, and we’ll continue to put the safety of our people and communities first,” a spokesperson told BuzzFeed News.

Most Twitter employees have been working from home for the last two months.

Other tech companies like Facebook and Google have been working remotely as they prepare to move back to offices amid the pandemic. Both are allowing employees to work from home until the end of 2020. Amazon and Microsoft will extend their policy until the end of October, according to Forbes.

Many technology companies embraced stay-at-home policies early on, most of their workers can do their jobs remotely.
