The studio released a trailer teasing the upcoming sequel, featuring the original movie’s three stars: Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy.

The original movie, “Hocus Pocus”, was released in 1993 and told the story of three wicked sisters from Salem, Massachusetts, who spent 300 years asleep before they were summoned by the lighting of the Black Flame Candle, Variety reported. The trailer released Tuesday features new teenagers holding a Halloween ritual to reignite the Black Flame Candle, summoning the trio once again.

Tony Hale joined the cast for “Hocus Pocus 2″. Hale told Variety making the movie was a “surreal experience. That movie is a Halloween classic, and meeting Bette, and Sarah Jessica and Kathy Najimy, who was on ‘Veep’ with me … it was really fun.”

This isn’t the first time the Sanderson sisters have been resummoned. Najimy, Midler and Parker were featured in “In Search of the Sanderson Sisters: A Hocus Pocus Hulaween Takeover” that served as a fundraiser for Midler’s environmental organization in 2020, the Los Angeles Times reported.

It isn’t just fans that are excited for the upcoming sequel. Bette Midler posted a photo from the new movie on Instagram with the caption, “Sistaaaaahs! ‘Tis time!”
