In an arrest report obtained by KSAT, police said that a woman was shopping at Walmart when Jessica Vega grabbed her cart, with her 4-year-old sitting inside, and started to push it away.

When the child’s mother screamed and grabbed her young daughter from the cart, Vega allegedly told her, “Just because she’s yours doesn’t mean I can’t take her,” KENS reported.

Vega then left the store, but was identified by a loss prevention manager working at Walmart who told police that they recognized Vega from a previous incident at a different Walmart. The manager told police that Vega had previously done the same thing to another family at the store he normally works at, The San Antonio Express News reported.

Vega was charged with attempted kidnapping and taken to Bexar County Jail on $50,000 bond.
