VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Citing a recent update to guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, Volusia County Schools says they’re reducing the COVID-19 quarantine period for asymptomatic exposures from 14 days to 10.
The change is effective immediately, meaning those who fit that criteria and are already in quarantine can shorten their quarantine time accordingly.

Per the updated options for reducing quarantines released by the CDC Tuesday, if a person who is exposed but not showing symptoms tests negative- with the appropriate test- on day six or later, they’re able to end quarantine after seven days.

Volusia County Schools says they made the decision at the recommendation of the Volusia County Health Department.
