Port Orange’s Carson Perry set to compete in Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals

ORLANDO, Fla. -- On April 2, the top 80 performers each year ages 7-15 compete in the Drive, Chip & Putt National Finals at Augusta National, home of the Masters.

This nationwide youth golf development initiative is designed to inspire a new generation of golfers and Central Florida has a local star competing in the finals.

Port Orange’s Carson Perry is making the trip to Augusta National to compete for a championship. He is competing in the Boys 12-13 division. He first picked up the game of golf from his dad, a golf professional, and his sister who also plays.

He has competed in local DCP events in past years, and this April will be his first time advancing to the National Finals at Augusta National. Carson says he wants to be the No. 1 player in the world when he grows up.

The National Finals will be broadcasted live on the Golf Channel on Sunday, April 2.
