Hurricane Sam forecast to become post-tropical soon; 1 other system being monitored

Hurricane Sam

Hurricane Sam is located north of the Gulf Stream and is expected to weaken soon.

Forecasters said Sam will become post-tropical by early Tuesday.

The storm is a large hurricane, with 105 mph winds.

Gradual weakening is forecast during the next few days.

Meteorologists watching other system

Meteorologists are monitoring a large area of disorganized cloudiness and showers over the southeastern Bahamas.

Any development of this system should be slow to occur while it moves slowly northwestward through late this weekend.

The storm has a 20% chance of developing over the next five days.
