Warmer than normal temperatures this evening, still very muggy

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tuesday afternoon remained mostly storm-free for much of Central Florida. It has been very muggy and the humid conditions will stay for the rest of the week.

Expect warmer days ahead as the winds will shift from the south, then from the southwest for the second half of the workweek.

Partly cloudy skies on Tuesday evening, with low temperatures above normal, about 5 degrees, dropping to the mid-70s by Wednesday morning.

High temperatures will reach the low 90s in most areas, which is between 3 and 5 degrees above normal. But heat indices will be in the upper 90s on Wednesday and Thursday.

Drier than normal conditions will stay put for Wednesday afternoon, with only about 30 percent of Central Florida receiving measurable rain.

In the tropics, Hurricane Delta continues to intensify. The storm is expected to move toward the Yucatan and then Louisiana later in the week. It poses no threat to Central Florida.
