ORLANDO, Fla. — Update: Two systems are heading to Central Florida, bringing with them a huge cold outbreak, Channel 9 certified meteorologist Brian Shields said.
The first system, set to arrive Tuesday, will bring scattered to widespread rain showers late in the day.

Then, the big system arrives Thursday into Friday, and Shields said, “it will be cold,” with three to four nights dipping into the 20s and 30s.
On Saturday, highs will be in the 40s, but usually reach mid-70s this time of year.

Temperatures were in the 40s, with some in the 30s in our area Monday morning.
The cold temperatures Monday morning are only a taste of a big drop coming this weekend.
Conditions will be nice in our area with high temperatures in the low 70s.

Enjoy the calm weather while it lasts, because there is a very active weather pattern moving in for the rest of the week.
There will be several chances for rain Tuesday afternoon through Friday morning.
There will be two storm systems, including a big cold front, that will move through our area this week.

Forecast models show Christmas weekend will be very cold.
It has been several years since Orlando last reached freezing temperatures, and it could happen on Christmas Eve on Saturday.
