...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Florida... St Johns River Near Astor affecting Volusia and Lake Counties. .The Saint Johns River at Astor is presently at Minor Flood Stage. While levels are forecast to remain relatively steady near Minor Flood Stage, any additional heavy rainfall may increase levels through late week. Astronomical high tides are also likely impeding water flow. For the St. Johns River...including Astor...Minor flooding is forecast. The Flood Warning continues for the St Johns River Near Astor. * Until further notice. * At 9:30 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 2.4 feet. * Flood stage is 2.3 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 AM EDT Thursday was 2.4 feet. * Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady above flood stage at 2.4 feet. * Impact...At 2.3 feet, Minor flooding of low lying streets and yards north of Fox Road on Lake County side of Astor, and from River Road northward on Volusia side of river. Water begins to cover docks at South Moon Fish Camp. * Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 2.6 feet on 10/14/1996.

For the High Rip Current Risk, dangerous rip currents and rough surf are expected. * WHERE...Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida Beaches. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, from 9 AM Saturday to 6 PM EDT Monday. For the High Rip Current Risk, from Saturday morning through Monday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Flooding of low lying roads and property is expected this weekend and early next week. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tidal levels along the Atlantic Coast will reach 1 to 1.5 feet above MHHW (above ground level) through tonight, then reach 2 to 3 feet above MHHW (above ground level) Saturday through Monday.
