ORLANDO, Fla. — In light of the recent progression of COVID-19, and the CDC’s recommendation to avoid events greater than 10 people for the next 8 weeks, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Walk Like MADD Central Florida event on May 2, 2020 at the Altamonte Springs Cranes Roost Park. This event has been rescheduled for August 29, 2020 at the same location. Until then, we will continue to promote the event, recruit walkers, and build an even better experience.
While this is incredibly disappointing, the health and safety of our constituents, volunteers, sponsors, and the community as a whole remain our priority. We are continuing to monitor the situation and we remain here for the victims of impaired driving who need our assistance. The monies raised by you for the Walk support MADD programs and outreach across Central Florida. No matter what is happening in the world, impaired driving unfortunately does not stop and neither do we!
We encourage you to support our incredible sponsors during this time as they make it possible for us to do the work across this community to fight impaired driving and support the victims of this violent crime.
If you are in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 877-MADD-HELP or visit www.madd.org. For information on staying safe and limiting the spread of this virus, please visit: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/high-risk-complications.html.
