2 dead after crash on I-4 in Seminole County, troopers say

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — An overnight crash on Interstate 4 killed two people and sent three others to the hospital, according the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash occurred Sunday morning just before 1 a.m. in Seminole County on I-4 near State Road 46.

According to troopers, two vehicles were traveling eastbound on I-4 when one car lost control, hitting a guardrail and then striking a second vehicle.

Troopers said the passenger from the first car died on scene and the driver who was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital later succumbed to his injuries.

Three passengers from the second car were transported with minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
