ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A man was shot to death in an apartment complex on Thursday, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
According to deputies, they responded to reports of a man down on Chapel Trace Drive near Goldenrod Road and Valencia College Lane.
"I seen a body, it was lying in the middle of the complex with seven bullets in the body," said resident Christian Rosario. "I've never felt this way before. There's a body in the middle of the complex. I don't' know who it is."
When deputies arrived at the scene, they found a man dead in the parking lot of the Chapel Trace Apartments in East Orange County.
Investigators with the sheriff’s office are calling the death a homicide.
Deputies said they stopped a dark-colored vehicle near Curryford Road and Goldenrod Road that was seen by witnesses leaving the apartment complex.
"While deputies were responding, we received additional information that a suspect vehicle was fleeing the scene," said Capt/ Angelo Nieves of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Investigators said they have taken two men, including one with a prosthetic limb, into custody.
Deputies haven't released the victim's name, but said he was in his 20s.
The evidence markers by his feet indicated that there were several gunshots fired. They also recovered a cellphone that was on the ground next to the victim.
"We are still looking for suspects until we determine otherwise," Nieves said.
The vehicle remains quarantined, investigators said.
