Bouncer Fatally Stabbed At Orlando Bar

ORLANDO, Fla.,None — Saturday night, one of downtown Orlando's popular bars didn't reopen, following the deadly stabbing of one of its bouncers.

Instead employees from nearby businesses stopped on their way to work to light candles in a makeshift memorial for Milton Torres, 25.

The victim worked for the Lodge on North Orange Avenue. Police say Eric Sandhaus, 26, stabbed Torres in the chest during a fight at 1:30 Saturday morning. Sandhaus and his brother were trying to get back into the bar after being kicked out, but Torres wouldn't let them. Eyewitnesses said they couldn't believe what they saw. One witness, Caroline Echemendia said, "I just saw a bunch of security guards running and so I walked down and then they grabbed the guy on the ground and he had been stabbed."

Police arrested Sandhaus for second degree murder and charged his brother Craig with trespassing and disorderly conduct. The arrests though, are giving little comfort to people who knew Milton Torres best.

Karyn Medina had known Torres since high school and told Eyewitness News he was a great guy. "Tall, dark, handsome, really nice outgoing guy. Friendly with everybody." said Medina.

Sandhaus remains in jail on no bond. His brother, however, was released some time early Saturday evening.
