OCOEE, Fla. — Traffic is moving again on a busy road in Ocoee after a sewage main break forced city crews to shut down Clarke Road between AD Mims Road and Hackney Prairie Road until further notice (see map) for about four hours Thursday morning.
Raw sewage spilled onto the road, creating a smelly mess but the break didn't affect utility services of nearby residents.
At about 8:00 Thursday morning the city got a call about raw sewage leaking from the pipe and onto the road. Drivers, even school buses, were re-routed until crews could assess the problem.
The city says the pipe is 10 years old and there's no telling what caused it to break.
