PENSACOLA, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a new immigration bill Friday in North Florida.
The bill includes barring state and local government agencies from contracting with transportation companies that bring undocumented immigrants into the state.
DeSantis also continued to criticize the Biden administration’s border policies.
“Think about the sheer numbers we are talking about,” DeSantis said. “When you are talking about millions of people, you know that is like bringing in multiple cities and just dumping them in the country. So, the sheer numbers are very problematic.”
The governor asked the Florida Supreme Court to impanel a statewide grand jury to investigate issues, such as smuggling or trafficking of undocumented immigrant children into Florida.
