Dogs, hogs, horses and llamas taken from Osceola home

KISSIMMEE, Fla.,None — Dozens of animals were taken from a Kissimmee home by Osceola County Animal Control Friday.

According to an Osceola County spokesperson, the animals were suffering from malnutrition and a variety of illnesses. Among the animals taken were 29 hogs, 25 dogs, five horses and two llamas. Several chickens, ducks, geese and doves were also taken by Animal Control employees.

Animal Control workers were called to the home by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.  The owner of the home, Michelle Jones, voluntarily surrendered the animals. Several animals were removed from Jones’ care two years ago due to malnutrition and illness, according to Osceola County.

Because Jones voluntarily surrendered the animals, and will be leaving the state, she will not be cited in the case.

The animals are being taken to Osceola Animal Control where they will be evaluated.
