BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Cocoa man turned $30 into a $1 million prize after a simple stop at a Melbourne convenience store.
The Florida Lottery announced that 43-year-old Stephen Smith purchased the winning FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000 Scratch-Off ticket from a 7-Eleven located in the 3900 block of North Harbor City Boulevard.
Smith chose to receive his winnings in a one-time payment, which amounted to $790,000 after taxes.

The 7-Eleven location will receive a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
The $30 game, THE FASTEST ROAD TO $1,000,000, launched in February and features 155 top prizes of $1,000,000 and over $948 million in cash prizes, according to The Florida Lottery.
