‘Don’t tread on me’: Gadsden Flag specialty license plate now available in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Gadsden Flag specialty license plate is now available at DMVs around the state of Florida.

The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles announced the new plates have been delivered to tax collector offices and license plate agencies statewide.

Florida residents who pre-ordered the specialty plate can pick them up.

Though new orders are available, anyone looking to order a plate is asked to check with their local tax collector officer beforehand to ensure they are in-stock.

Officials said part of the money collected from the sale of the Gadsden Flag plates will be given to the Florida Veterans Foundation to be used to benefit veterans.

The Gadsden Flag and famous battle cry, “Don’t tread on me,” was started as a rally for American independence from British rule before the start of the American Revolution.
