FORT MYERS, Fla. — A 14-year-old south Florida boy who was struck by lightning is making a miraculous recovery.
Last month, Zac Latawiec and his girlfriend were injured when a lightning bolt hit Fort Myers beach.
A third person was killed.
Latawiec's girlfriend recovered, but doctor's thought he was going to have permanent brain damage.
However, Latawiec is walking and talking.
"I just remember going to the beach and getting there. That's all," Latawiec said.
"There is something about him that also has helped him recover," said Dr. Roberto Monge.
His mother, Danita Lovins, said, "He did it. He's strong. He's a fighter."
Doctors said there's good chance Latawiec will make a full recovery.
