ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida could see another round of summer seabreeze storms Monday afternoon, with heavy rain expected to be the biggest concern.
A few thunderstorms could become stronger, bringing gusty winds, frequent lightning and pockets of heavy rainfall.
Some areas could pick up between 2 and 3 inches of rain, especially where storms repeatedly move over the same locations.
Sunday brought some signs of the potential for heavy rain, although rainfall totals were not nearly as high as they were in the days before.
Forecasters expect the higher moisture levels to return today, increasing the potential for downpours across parts of the region.
The unsettled pattern is expected to stick around through the week.
Storms will remain possible each day, although some days are likely to have better chances for heavy rain than others.
Despite the rain chances, temperatures will continue to climb into the low 90s this afternoon.
With humidity factored in, the heat index could reach around 100 degrees.
There is no major change in the overall weather pattern expected over the next 7 to 10 days, meaning Central Florida will likely continue to see a familiar summer setup.
Residents should be prepared for quickly developing storms, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.
