• 20-foot-wide hornet's nest found near family's home

GREENVILLE, Fla. - A north Florida family wants to get rid of a pesky problem that could be potentially dangerous.

A giant hornet's nest is in a tree right across the street from their home.

Animal control said the nest is about 20 feet wide.

The family said the insects haven't bothered them, but they don't want to take any chances.

"I want them to get rid of it ASAP. I'm afraid of bugs and things like that, said homeowner Norman Bush. "Yes, it concerns me. Somebody wants to come by and shoot it or something like that. I'm sure they would swarm everywhere."

Animal control officials said they are working on ways to safely remove the nest.
