ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orlando police and Orange County deputies are searching for robbers responsible for a crime spree at multiple gas stations throughout the county.
Authorities said gunmen held up at least three convenience stores in just two hours. Authorities said at one of the locations, one of the robbers put a gun to a clerks head.
A Hess Express gas station on Orange Blossom Trail was robbed a little after 2 a.m. Wednesday and shortly after, about one mile down the road, a 7-Eleven on Camomile Drive was robbed at gunpoint.
"We looked at surveillance and it looks like the same two," said Lt. Parks Duncan of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
“They walked in and had what looked like shirts covering their faces. One had a black shirt one had a white shirt,” said Lourdes Clayton with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
A Circle K on N. Orange Blossom Trail was robbed about one hour before the Hess Express robbery happened, authorities said. That was 20 miles from the other crimes, but the descriptions of the robbers are the similar, authorities said.
"Put a gun to the male clerk’s head, [and the] female clerk had to hurry," said Duncan.
Investigators confirmed Wednesday afternoon that all three robberies are connected.
Even though the men tried to shield their faces, security cameras captured images of the Circle K robbery.
In all the robberies, the men stormed in and demanded money. The clerks were told if they did not comply they would be shot, authorities said.
Orlando police and Orange County deputies are working together to try and catch the robbers.
