Deputies identify man accused in fatal stabbing at Apopka home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies arrested a man they said stabbed four people in an Apopka home early Sunday.

One person was killed and three others were seriously injured.

Orange County deputies responded to a 911 call from the home on South Apollo Drive just before 4 a.m.

They found four stabbing victims and the suspect, Daniel Leija, 23, still on scene.

One victim died at an Apopka hospital less than an hour after deputies arrived.

The other three victims, a man and two women, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. They are expected to survive.

Leija was charged with one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Deputies have not said what led to the incident, but said the victims and suspect knew each other.
