5 injured in shooting at teen party in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Police are investigating after five juveniles were shot at a party in Gainesville Thursday.

According to police, officers were called to the American Legion at 4701 NW 6th Street around 10:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived on scene, they found four juveniles outside the building and one inside who had been shot.

Investigators said the shooting happened when two gunmen exchanged gunfire during a teen party at the venue.

Police have not said what may have led to the shooting or released the names and ages of the victims.
