LAKE TARPON, Fla. — A 700-pound crocodile was found in a woman's Lake Tarpon back yard.
Wildlife experts said finding the crocodile there is highly unusual because they are usually found in south Florida.
A resident snapped a picture of the 11-foot crocodile coming out of the lake behind her north Florida house on Monday.
Neighbors said the animal lived in the lake and avoided being captured for over a year.
"This thing was just so much scarier looking than gators. I'm not so afraid of gators anymore," said resident Wanda Vekasil.
The captured crocodile will be sent to a rehab facility and then released back into the wild.
