ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — For the past year, Orlando police say Emanuel Gebreyohannes has been very busy on Facebook, using fake accounts to send numerous messages to a woman he doesn’t know.
He was arrested recently for allegedly stalking the woman.
The woman, who is not being named, had already filed a stalking injunction against Gebreyohannes when the messages took on a sinister tone, police said.
Since January, investigators said the man sent the victim approximately 29,000 messages on Facebook.
The victim said she did not know Gebreyohannes, but the man started showing up at her home and work. At one point he left her a note on her car, calling her a "cute bunny," the woman said.
After she filed the injunction, messages from the man included things like encouraging the victim to commit suicide and threats against her family.
Gebreyohannes’ father, Meb Yohan, said he was completely in the dark about the allegations.
“Before the police came I had no idea what was happening,” he said.
Gebreyohannes told his father that it was the woman who was stalking him, Yohan added.
