Angry driver hits pedestrian in DeLand

 

DELAND, Fla. — A Volusia County woman told police she hit a pedestrian with her vehicle because she was upset he was in her way as she passed another vehicle.

Police said Amanda Weaver, 28, then left the scene on Monday night in DeLand.

According to reports, witnesses told police where Weaver's mother lives. They went to the address and found a silver KIA with a flattened front tire in front of the home.

She was arrested on charges of leaving the scene of a crash with an injury.

The victim suffered multiple cuts and scratches and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Weaver remained in the Volusia County Jail on Tuesday. It's not known whether she has an attorney.
