Some Florida residents can book an appointment Friday for Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccination at Publix.
Florida residents can begin to book an online appointment at 7 a.m.

The shot will be administered Monday or Tuesday for those who are able to make an appointment.

The vaccine will be available at all Publix locations in Florida.
Publix said educators, regardless of age, will be prioritized for the vaccine until further notice.
A new federal directive prioritizes “teachers, school staff, and childcare workers employed in preprimary, primary, and secondary schools as well as Head Start and Early Head Start programs (including teachers, staff, and bus drivers) and those who work as or for licensed childcare providers, including center-based and family care providers.”
Publix said wait times for other eligible groups may be longer than normal.

Vaccination appointments are available for the following people:
- Long-term care facility residents and staff
- People aged 60 years and older
- People deemed extremely vulnerable
- Health care personnel with direct patient contact
- K-12 school employees
- Sworn law enforcement officers aged 50 years and older
- Firefighters aged 50 years and older
This is the first time residents aged 60 and older can make an appointment.

Residents have to provide proof of residency to be vaccinated.
Publix is not allowing residents to make an appointment by phone — they must make an appointment online.
