Arrest made after several local Jimmy John's robbed

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police have arrested a man accused of robbing several Jimmy John's restaurants in the Orlando area.

Orlando police said Perry Stanley is a serial robber who held up Jimmy John's restaurants from Orlando to Altamonte Springs.

Witnesses were able to identify Stanley from a lineup, Channel 9 learned.

Stanley appeared before a judge on Friday, where his bond was denied due to his extensive criminal record.

"This is a misconception of what's going on right here. I have absolutely nothing to do with what's going on right here," Stanley said in court.

The latest robbery had been reported at the Eastgate Drive location.

Surveillance video shows the robber enter the store and point a gun at the manager's chest. The man demanded money and got cash, but that wasn't enough, police said.

The robber then forced the manager to open the store's safe in the back room before he fled out of a back door.

Detectives believe the same man also robbed a Jimmy John's near the intersection of Semoran Boulevard and East Colonial Drive last week and another one in Altamonte Springs earlier this month.

Authorities believed it was the same robber because witnesses at each Jimmy John's location gave the same suspect description and said the man carried out the crime the same way.
