Beautiful weather continues this weekend, low chance of rain on Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. — Tropics update:

Julia is now a hurricane with 75 mph maximum sustained winds as it passes near San Andrea and Providencia Islands.

Updated forecast:

Quiet weather continues through the weekend across Central Florida as we continue to dry out more than a week after Hurricane Ian.

But meteorologist George Waldenberger said that this quiet weather can’t last forever. Next week, changes will unfold over Central Florida.

Humidity will return, which means morning temperatures will not be as cool and more clouds will develop during the afternoons.

Those clouds will also bring a return of the afternoon rains.

The highest chance for rains will be next Wednesday through Friday ahead of another front that should dry us back out at some point next weekend.

Rainfall totals next week may top 1 inch in some spots, so Severe Weather Center 9 will monitor to see if this will impact flooded areas much.

While we’re in the clear from any tropical storm threats here in Florida, there is a system about to bring hurricane conditions to Central America.

Julia may strengthen to hurricane strength before making landfall over the Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua overnight.

Julia will continue to move west at 18 mph as it strengthens and is expected to reach the coast of Nicaragua late Saturday into early Sunday.

Life-threatening flash floods and mudslides can be expected around parts of Central America this weekend.

The current stretch of great weather continues on Saturday.

Saturday starts off with pleasant and mild temperatures.

Conditions will be sunny and warm in the afternoon with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s.

Sunday will be mostly dry with a small chance of isolated showers toward the evening.
