Black Chevy Tahoe flees crash that killed woman in New Smyrna Beach, police say

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — New Smyrna Beach police are searching for the driver who crashed into another car early Sunday, killing a 21-year-old woman.

Kaelee Morrell was driving east on State Road 44 around 2 a.m. when her vehicle and a black 2006 Chevy Tahoe collided. Both vehicles left the roadway.

Morrell was treated at the scene, but later died. A passenger riding with Morrell was taken to Halifax Hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Police have so far been unable to identify the driver of the Tahoe.
