BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of former Cocoa Mayor Jake Williams.
Deputies around 2:30 p.m. Monday responded to a home in unincorporated Cocoa for a male, later identified as 60-year-old Williams, who was found unresponsive.
The investigation is in its initial stages and is being handled by the Homicide Unit of the Sheriff’s Office. There is no evidence to suggest foul play, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Williams was elected mayor in 2018 but lost his re-election bid in November. He also served on the City Council.
