APOPKA, Fla. — SWAT teams spent about eight hours Thursday trying to get a burglary suspect out of his attic in Apopka, authorities said.

The incident happened at a home on West Simon Avenue and Florence Street about 6 a.m., investigators said.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said Jeremiah James Noe has a lengthy criminal record, and was out on bail when Thursday morning's incident occurred. Deputies were attempting to serve an arrest warrant on a burglary charge.

Deputies fired smoke bombs into the house to try to get Noe out.

Noe is also facing narcotics charges, deputies said.

Noe was booked into the Orange County Jail, and Channel 9 learned that he’s had nine previous felony arrests within 10 years.

Some of the charges for previous arrests have been dropped by prosecutors, and for others, he has posted bond, which could be revoked by the bondsman due to the new charges.
