Caylee Anthony memorial gets cleanup

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla.,None — It's been three years since a memorial was put up where the remains of Caylee Anthony were found.

Hundreds of toys and other items have covered the area, but now that's changing.

On Sunday, members of the organization that looks after the memorial finished a three-month cleanup of the area.

Several stuffed animals were removed from the Orange County site because they were covered in mold.

The group hopes these changes don't stop people from visiting the memorial.

"We want to keep the area clean, and so we're just kind of recycling things, moving the old out. Hopefully people will still come out here and not forget this little girl," said Frank Del Valle, of With Love Ministries.

Del Valle encourages visitors to bring flowers and other small mementos, but avoid stuffed animals.

He told WFTV more than 100 trash bags of items have been removed.

The toys that could be salvaged were donated to domestic violence shelters.
